Mount View Sport Horses Ltd (MVSH) is situated in the Bay of Plenty on the outskirts of Tauranga, sitting in the foothills overlooking the Harbour and Mount Maunganui.The stud is owned and operated by the Keddell family, and is located just off State Highway 2 in Whakamarama, 25 mins from the city.The stud consists of two main properties - Mount View and Laurel Drive. Mount View is a 40 acre property with both flat and rolling pasture, where the stud is based. This property houses the stallions, competition horses and weanlings, and the mares are foaled here. Laurel Drive consists of 80 acres of hills and flats on which we run and grow our young stock, and broodmares before they foal. Raising our youngstock on the undulating country builds strength and stamina and creates co-ordination
The stud was established in 2002 by Richard and Wendy Keddell. To begin our quality breeding program we imported 6 horses from Europe, which included four broodmares and two stallions. Four of these horses were imported from VDL Stud in Holland, one of those being our resident stallion Senator VDL. Since then, we then we have imported more horses from Europe and continue on the path to breeding top quality horses from world class bloodlines!
