Senator VDL was bred at the world reknowned VDL stud in Holland. On both sides of his family, he has very potent jumping blood. He has now been retired to stud.

His Sire, Corland has had an outstanding career as an International showjumper, jumped many International Grand Prix and represented Holland many times in Nations Cup events. Corland is well represented on the breeding front, with many of his products competing successfully. Son’s Pacific and Sir Corland are approved with the KWPN and were champions of their stallion tests in the Netherlands. Cor-de-Son also won the Championships for 5 yr olds at the World Breeding Championships in Lanaken. Corland is leaving horses with superb temperaments and are very trainable, which is very evident in Senator VDL and his offspring.

Senator VDL’s dam Falonie(keur pref. prest. sport) is by the famous Voltaire and out of a Nimmerdor mare. She has had a full brother who jumped internationally with Michael Whittaker. She has two offspring jumping in the USA and an approved son Placido, with the KWPN in the Netherlands. Senator VDL’s maternal line is very strong and have produced international jump horses as well as Olympic horses. Grand dam Alonie produced international jumpers, and in the 4th remove of his pedigree, we find Zolga, who produced two Olympic jumpers, which both took part at the Los Angeles Games 1984.

Senator was selected for his outstanding jumping technique, natural head carriage and powerful movement along with his wonderful temperament.

Senator VDL is producing foals with correct conformation, lovely heads and a strong topline and hindquarters. They move very well and are showing great technique with loads of scope and elasticity when jumping.

His progeny out competing are scopey, careful and show promise as competitive sporthorses.
